The May full moon — the Flower Moon — falls at the end of a month that has a way of asking a lot from you. Spring is supposed to feel like expansion, like opening up, and sometimes it does. But sometimes it just feels like more: more pressure, more noise, more of everything you haven't dealt with yet blooming right alongside everything beautiful.
The full moon is traditionally a time of release. Not a time to push harder or set new intentions — that's the new moon's job. This is the exhale. The full moon asks: what are you still carrying that you don't need anymore? What are you holding onto out of habit, out of fear, out of not having made the time to let it go?
This ritual is the time you're making. A bath, a cup of tea, and an hour that belongs entirely to you.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Tea Lady BK Bath Saltsa generous handful
- Your tea of choice1 cup, brewed strong
- Candlesas many as you want
- Something to write on (optional)pen + paper
- An hour with no obligations (non-negotiable!!!!!!!)
HOW TO DO IT:
- Brew your tea first so it has time to cool slightly before you get in the bath. Something calming works best here — whatever blend feels most like rest to you.
- Draw a warm bath and add a generous handful of bath salts. Let them dissolve fully before you get in.
- Light your candles. Turn off the overhead light if you can. The point is to change the texture of the room.
- Before you get in, take one minute — just one — and think about what you want to release tonight. It doesn't have to be profound. It can be a mood, a conversation, a habit, a story you keep telling yourself. Write it down if that helps, then set the paper aside.
- Get in. Bring your tea. Stay as long as you want.
- When you get out, don't rush. Dry off slowly. Moisturize. Drink the rest of your tea. Give the release some room to actually happen.
THE VIBE:
The Flower Moon in May sits at the edge of spring tipping into summer — it's a potent moment for shedding whatever accumulated over the colder months. If your cycle happens to align with the full moon in your luteal phase, this ritual hits especially hard: your body is already in a reflective, inward-turning energy. But this works regardless of where you are in your cycle. The full moon doesn't wait, and neither should your rest.
